On May 11th, Netflix released its weekly Top 10 list. Three (3) Korean titles made it to the global charts in the non-English category TV series, while three (3) Korean shows have departed the list including the hit drama, Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022).
Yaksha: Ruthless Operations (2022) has exited the Top 10 list in the non-English film category, attaining a total record of 36.5 million viewing hours.
Looking at the non-English TV series category, the crowd-favorite A Business Proposal (2022) remains strong for nine (9) consecutive weeks. So far, it has achieved 227.4 million viewing hours, surpassing the 10-week viewing hours of Twenty-Five Twenty-One.
Our Blues (2022) rose to 6th spot on its second week on the global charts, obtaining a total record of 19.4 million viewing hours, so far.
Meanwhile, the hit drama, Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022), has exited the global charts on May 1st. It attained 10 consecutive weeks on the list and has been watched for 171.6 million viewing hours.
Happiness (2021) enjoyed two consecutive weeks of global popularity, achieving 21.7 million viewing hours on Netflix worldwide and has exited the list on April 24th.
While new great Korean shows are making their way onto Netflix’s global charts, Squid Game (2021) and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) still own the Top 2 spots.
Squid Game (2021) remains the no.1 Korean show that has acquired a whopping 2.2 billion viewing hours for 19 consecutive weeks. It is followed by Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) that stayed on the global charts for 16 consecutive weeks, attaining a total viewing record of 300.5 million hours.
While the two popular Korean shows have departed Netflix’s Top 10 list, they are still being watched worldwide, according to the April 2022 data from Flix Patrol.
