Who will be named the “Star of the Year” at the 2023 Buil Film Awards?
The Buil Film Awards, which boasts the longest history among existing domestic film awards, has officially released and announced its final candidates for this year’s awards ceremony.
Besides the official list of nominees in different categories, Buil Film Awards also launched the online poll for fans to cast votes for the “Star of the Year Award”. Sixty-three (63) Korean actors and forty (40) Korean actresses were selected by movie officials and judges from titles that were released from August 11, 2022 to August 10, 2023.
The Childe (2023) main actors Kim Seonho, Kim Kang-woo, Kang Tae-joo, and Go Ara were included in the list. The female actors of 20th Century Girl (2022) namely Kim You-jung and Roh Yoon-seo were also among the nominees.
Other actors that were selected for the “Star of the Year Award” include: Kim Go-eun for Hero (2022), Doh Kyung-soo for The Moon (2023), Jeon Do-yeon for Kill Boksoon (2023), Yim Si-wan for Unlocked (2023), Bae Doona for Next Sohee (2022), Lee Byung-hun for Concrete Utopia (2023), Kim Hye-soo for Smugglers (2023), Ma Dong-seok for The Roundup: No Way Out (2023), and more. Fans worldwide are actively casting their votes through the website of Buil Film Awards. The poll will officially end on September 6th at 15:00 KST.
This 32nd Buil Film Awards will be held on October 5th at Signiel Busan with emcees Lee Je-hoon and Esom. It will also be broadcast live on MBC and Naver TV. The event is hosted by the Busan-based daily newspaper Busan Ilbo and sponsored by Hwaseung Group.
