Who will be named the “Most Popular Actor and Actress” at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards?
The Asia Artist Awards (AAA), which brings together South Korea’s top stars and famous artists across Asia, has officially launched the online poll for the “Most Popular Actor and Actress of the Year”.
Two-hundred sixty (260) Korean actors, 130 male and 130 female were selected in the preliminary round for the popularity award.
As of September 27th at 11:00 KST, a total of 248,198 votes has been cast in the male category and 81,789 votes in the female category.
In the male actor category, Kim Seonho continues to dominate the poll with 41.93% of votes (104,064). He is followed by Lee Junho with 17.21% of votes (42,707) while DO Kyung-soo takes the third spot with 9.42% of votes (23,383). Other male actors in the Top 10 include Cha Eun-woo, Jinyoung, Kang Daniel, Suho, Ahn Hyo-seop, Hwang Min-hyun, and Lee Joon-gi.
In the female category, Lim Yoona ranks no. 1 with 30.80% of votes (25,188). She is followed by Kim Sejeong with 19.78% of votes (16,177) while Kim So-hyun takes third place with 19.10% of votes (15,620). Other female actors in the Top 10 include Moon Ga-young, Han Hyo-joo, Lee Se-young, Kim Go-eun, Song Ji-hyo, Lee Sung-kyung, and Song Hye-kyo.
Fans worldwide are actively casting their votes through the Starpoll app. The first round of voting will end on October 10th at 23:59:59 KST. The Top 100 candidates from the first round of voting will compete in the second round of voting through another platform, which will be announced later.
Meanwhile, the Asia Artist Awards is set to hold its biggest edition yet this year.
According to Star News, the 8th edition will be held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, Philippines on December 14th. The venue is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest mixed-use indoor theater in the world for its 55,000 seating capacity.
The big event will be hosted by Korean artists Jang Won-young, Kang Daniel, and Sung Han-bin. So far, more than forty performing artists of boy bands, girl groups, solo singers, and actors have been confirmed to attend the awards show.

The 8th edition is presented by Star News, Asia Artists Awards Organising Committee, TONZ Entertainment, and PULP Live World. A red carpet entrance of the famous celebrities is expected on December 14th. Tickets will go on sale on November 12th, according to Pulp Live World.
