Who will be named the “Most Popular Movie Star” at the 2023 Blue Dragon Film Awards?
The Blue Dragon Film Awards, which is considered one of the most popular and prestigious film awards held in South Korea, has officially launched the poll for the “Popular Star Award”.
In the 44th edition, thirty Korean movie stars were listed to compete for the popularity award through the Celeb Champ voting platform. The poll started on November 7th at 10:00 KST and will end on November 24th at 11:59 KST.
As of November 19th, the Top 10 includes Krystal Jung (Cobweb), Kim Hye-soo (Smugglers), Park Bo-young (Concrete Utopia), Song Joong-ki (Hwaran/Hopeless), Jeon Yeo-been (Cobweb), Jo Insung (Smugglers), Ahn Eun-jin (The Night Owl), and Park Jeong-min (Smugglers).
Notably, Kim Seonho (The Childe) and Doh Kyung-soo (The Moon) continue to dominate the popularity poll, garnering more than 300,000 votes each with a remarkable huge gap from other movie stars.
Besides the strong fan base, both Korean stars are also candidates for the acting category in the prestigious award ceremony, Kim Seonho for Best New Actor and Doh Kyungsoo for Best Actor. Check out the full list of nominees here.
The 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards will be held at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, South Korea on November 24th. It will also be aired live on KBS2 and its official YouTube channel.
