14 Korean Titles That Entered Netflix’s Global Top 10 [July 2021 to February 2022]

Amid new streaming services, Netflix remains to be the biggest and most popular streaming platform in the world. It has attracted more than 200 million subscribers for its successful shows such as Money Heist, Stranger Things, Red Notice, Lupin, as well as famous Korean titles including Squid Game and All Of Us Are Dead, to name a few.

As Korean content continues to rise in popularity worldwide, we have collected the Korean titles that entered and exited Netflix’s Global Top 10 from July 2021 to February 2022 in the non-English shows category. It shows the number of weeks it stayed on the global charts and the total viewing hours it attained.

Since the provided data from Netflix starts on June 28, 2021, there are no available record on weekly performances of the following popular Korean shows: Crash Landing On You (2019-2020), Kingdom series (2019-2020) Itaewon Class (2020), It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020), Start-Up (2020), The King Eternal Monarch (2020), Vincenzo (February 2021), Space Sweepers (February 2021), and Move To Heaven (May 2021). But surely, they are among the top list if data is available.

However, here’s a visual chart of Korean titles that entered Netflix’s Top 10. It does not include the shows that have newly entered or have not yet departed the global charts in 2022.

So far, Squid Game (2021) and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) appear to be the two most popular Korean titles on Netflix in terms of number of weeks on the global charts. The deadly game series had an incredible streak of 19 weeks and the seaside romantic drama attained 16 consecutive weeks.

While new great Korean shows are making their way onto the top list in 2022 such as All Of Us Are Dead, the two greatest hits, Squid Game (2021) and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) remain the unbeatable longest Hallyu content on Netflix’s Top 10 to date.
