On April 22nd, Baeksang Arts Awards has officially launched the online voting for this year’s Most Popular Actor and Actress.
Four (4) candidates for the Best Actor and Best Actress in the TV division are currently dominating the popularity poll, namely Lee Jun-ho, Jung Hae-in, Kim Tae-ri, and Lee Se-young.
In the male category, the Crown Prince in The Red Sleeve (2021), Lee Jun-ho, is currently leading the poll with more than 33,000 votes. He is followed by Jung Hae-in who played the role of Private An Jun-ho in Deserter Pursuit (2021). So far, he received more than 22,000 votes.
Looking at the female category, the fencing prodigy in Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022), Kim Tae-ri ranks 1st place with 31,000+ votes while Lee Se-young, who played the court maid in The Red Sleeve (2021), takes second place with 19,000+ votes, so far.
In 2021, Kim Seonho and Seo Yea-ji were voted by fans as the Most Popular Actor and Actress. Seo Yea-ji’s talent was exceptional in It’s Okay To Not Be Okay (2020) that she was nominated for Best Actress and voted as the Most Popular Actress.
Kim Seonho remarkably rose to Hallyu fame for his brilliant performance as Han Ji-pyeong in Start-Up (2020) and was a strong candidate for Best Supporting Actor. In the poll, he received 1.3 million votes from fans worldwide and took home the Most Popular Actor award.
Meanwhile, fans worldwide are actively casting their votes in the poll through Tiktok that will officially end on April 29th at 6:00PM KST.
The final winners for the Most Popular Actor and Actress in the 58th edition of Baeksang Arts Awards will be announced during the ceremony on May 6th. The event will be broadcast live simultaneously on JTBC.
