Noh Hee-kyung has earned the national win as Best Screenplay Writer for Our Blues (2022) and will represent South Korea at the Grand Awards and Gala Finale in this year’s Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Nine national winners from different countries will compete for the grand award in Best Screenplay category. South Korea’s Noh Hee-kyung in tvN’s Our Blues (2022) has been selected as official candidate alongside Hongkong’s Kwok Wing Hong for Principle, India’s Atul Mongia for Mai: A Mother’s Rage, Japan’s Gekidan Hitori for Asakusa Kid, Malaysia’s Nazri Vovinski, June Tan, and Azhar Amirulhisyam for Seribu Nina, Philippines’ Michiko Yamato for On The Job, Singapore’s T T Dhavamanni for Maasigaiye – Heaven And Earth, Taiwan’s Ryan Tu for Light The Night, and Thailand’s Chaingmun Ngamkanokwan for Remember 15.
Noh Hee-kyung wrote Our Blues (2022), a star-studded drama with 20 episodes of various stories in an omnibus format that deals with life’s sorrows and frustrations set in the beautiful island of Jeju. The drama achieved its highest nationwide viewership rating of 14.5% and appeared in the global rankings of non-English TV on Neflix for 9 consecutive weeks.

Noh Hee-kyung is one of the renowned and experienced female screenwriters of South Korea who writes in-depth narratives. She studied Creative Writing at Seoul Institite of the Arts and has written 20+ television series since 1995, including the hit dramas, Miracle (2006), Worlds Within (2008), That Winter, The Wind Blows (2013), It’s Okay, That’s Love (2014), and Dear My Friends (2016), just to name a few.
The final winners of this year’s Asian Academy Creative Awards will be officially announced during the Grand Awards and Gala Finale in Singapore on December 7-8, 2022.
