The first season of tvN’s Alchemy Of Souls (2022), starring Jung So-min and Lee Jae-wook, has re-entered Netflix’s Global top 10 and took 8th place worldwide in non-English TV category for the week of September 26 to October 2, 2022.

In total, the historical-fantasy show has reached Top 10 in TV in 40 countries, watched for 211.2 million hours so far, and appeared in the global rankings of non-English TV for 12 consecutive weeks from June 27, 2022 to September 18, 2022. It re-entered Top 10 on September 26th, reaching 16 countries with 10.9 million viewing hours for its 13th week. See summary here.

tvN’s Alchemy Of Souls (2022-2023) is a two-part series about young mages in the fictional country of Daeho that encounters and deals with “alchemy of souls”, a forbidden magic spell that switches bodies. The part 1 ends with the villain creating chaos and destroying the lives of these young mages and the story continues in part 2, entitled Alchemy Of Souls: Light And Shadow to be released in December 2022.

Meanwhile, Squid Game (2021) for 20 weeks and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) for 16 weeks remain the top 2 worldwide hit Korean titles based on weeks achieved in the Global Top 10 rankings on Netflix. A Business Proposal (2022), Alchemy Of Souls (2022), and Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022) came in third with a record of 13 weeks, as of October 5th.
