Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Through The Darkness, One Ordinary Day Selected For Asian Television Awards 2022

Korean TV series Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) and Through The Darkness (2022), and web series One Ordinary Day (2021) have been selected as candidates to represent South Korea in the 27th Asian Television Awards.


Best Drama Series

tvN’s Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) starring Kim Seonho and Shin Mina, and SBS’ Through The Darkness (2022) starring Kim Nam-gil and Jin Seon-kyu have been selected as official candidates for Best Drama Series alongside Australia’s New Gold Mountain, India’s ESCAYPE LIVE, Japan’s Dearest, China’s Chao Yue, India’s Tabbar, and Singapore’s This Land is Mine.


Best Original Digital Drama Series

Coupang Play’s One Ordinary Day (2021) starring Kim Soo-hyun and Cha Seung-won has been nominated for Best Original Digital Drama Series and will compete with Malaysia’s Ganjil, China’s Under The Skin, Philippines’ Still, Thailand’s The Revenge, Indonesia’s Menemukan-Mu, and two series from Singapore, Identiti and Lion Mums Season 4.


Best Leading Male Performance – Digital

Kim Soo-hyun in One Ordinary Day (2021) has been selected for Best Leading Male Performance in Digital alongside Malaysia’s Fattah Amin for Ganjil and Syafiq Kyle for Seribu Nina, China’s Tan Jianci for Under The Skin, Singapore’s Mark Lee for It’s All Your Fault! and Norman Ishak for Identiti, Philippines’ Christian Bautista for Still, and Indonesia’s Jefri Nichol for Pertaruhan The Series.


Best Direction (Fiction)

Director Myung-Woo Lee in One Ordinary Day (2021) will compete for Best Direction in Fiction with Australia’s Corrie Chen for New Gold Mountain, Singapore’s Chen Yi You for Genie In A Cup, China’s Lu Yang for The Wind Blows From Longxi and Zhang Xiao Bo for Chao Yue, Thailand’s Patha Tongpan for F4 Thailand: Boys, India’s Ram Madhvani for Aarya Season 2 and Abhay Pannu for Rocket Boys.


The Asian Television Awards, which is considered as Asia’s premiere entertainment award-giving body, showcases and honors the best in quality television production. This year’s event will be held in Manila on December 1 and in Singapore on December 8, 2022.
