Decision To Leave, Narco-Saints Win Big At Director’s Cut Awards 2023

The Korean film, Decision To Leave (2022) and Netflix Original series, Narco-Saints (2022) won multiple awards at the 21st Director’s Cut Awards held on February 24.

Decision To Leave (2022) took home five trophies including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best New Actor. The romantic-mystery film is written and directed by Park Chan-wook that follows a sleep-deprived detective who investigates the death of a mountain climber but ends up falling in love with the man’s mysterious wife who is also a prime suspect, starring Tang Wei and Park Hae-il. The movie became one of the box office hits in South Korea, besides achieving multiple awards from various ceremonies. Director Park Chan-wook also won the Best Director at Cannes Film Festival in April 2022.

Narco-Saints (2020) grabbed four awards including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best New Actor. The crime series is based on true events about an ordinary entrepreneur who joins a secret government mission to capture a Korean drug lord operating in South America, written by Yoon Jong-bin and Kwon Sung-hui, and directed by Yoon Jong-bin. The show also reached Netflix Global Top 10 in non-English TV category in 82 countries for five weeks. It stars veteran Korean actors Ha Jung-woo, Hwang Jung-min, Park Hae-soo, Jo Woo-jin, and Yoo Yeon-seok.
