South Korean actor Kim Seonho is soon to charm the silver screen!
On March 13th, fans of Kim Seonho were so delighted to see a teaser of the actor’s highly-anticipated movie debut, The Childe (2023), formerly known as Sad Tropics, shared across social media. The action-noir film is one of the Korean film promotional displays at the 2023 Hongkong International Film and TV Market (FILMART), Asia’s largest entertainment content market. In its 27th edition, over 700 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions participated in the said exhibition, which will run from March 13 to 16, 2023.
Among the several shows featured, seven Korean films were included by the Korean distributor, Contents Panda, namely Soulmate starring Kim Dami, Tastes Of Horror starring Lee Joo-young, Smugglers starring Kim Hye-soo, Deadman starring Cho Jin-woong, The Plot starring Gang Dong-won, New Normal starring Lee Yumi, and The Childe starring Kim Seonho.
Fans of Kim Seonho went wild, expressing excitement across social media and raving about the movie debut of the actor: “I can’t wait for the trailer!”, “Give us the premiere date already!”, “I really really desperately need this in the Philippines!”, “I can’t wait for his role!”, “Please come faster!”, “So proud of you Seonho!”, “This role will seriously be the end of us all”, “It’s just a silhouette but I’m already losing my sanity”, “Will we get to hear the nobleman whistle?”, “Look at the poster of the mysterious nobleman!”, “I’m so excited for The Childe!”
In another post, a fan shared a movie poster of The Childe captured at the Hongkong Filmart, which features Kim Seonho in a silhouette portrait, looking like a mysterious nobleman in a suit and whistling that appears to be dangerous. “A boxer is haunted by a mysterious unit. Who are they? Why are they chasing him?”, as stated in the official synopsis.
The ChildeΒ (2023) is an upcoming Korean action-noir film by Park Hoon-jung that tells the story of a Filipino-Korean boxer whose mother is sick and comes to Korea to find his father but meets a group of mysterious people chasing after him. Kim Seonho was cast to portray the mysterious nobleman and Kang Tae-joo as the boxer. It also stars Kim Kang-woo and Go Ara.
