Idol-actors IU and Jinyoung dominate the poll for Most Popular Actor and Actress in the 59th edition of Baeksang Arts Awards (BAA).
After announcing the official list of candidates in all categories in Film, Theater, and TV division on April 7th, Baeksang Arts Awards also launched the online poll for fans to cast votes for their favorite artist.
As of April 21st at 14:00 KST, idol-actress IU ranks first place in the popularity poll in the female category with 272.61k votes. She is a nominee for Best New Actress in Film for her performance in Broker (2022).
Looking at the male category, Park Jinyoung, who is a candidate for Best New Actor in Film for his role in Christmas Carol (2022), ranks 1st place with 122.84k votes from fans.
In 2022, Lee Junho in The Red Sleeve (2021) and Kim Tae-ri in Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022) were voted by fans as the Most Popular Actor and Actress.
Meanwhile, fans worldwide are actively casting their votes through the Tiktok account of Baeksang. The poll will officially end on April 26th at 16:00 KST.
The final winners for Most Popular Actor and Actress in the 59th edition of Baeksang Arts Awards will be officially announced during the awarding ceremony on April 28, 2023 at the Incheon Paradise City in Incheon. The event will be broadcast live in South Korea on JTBC and internationally through TikTok.
