Bae Suzy Earns Her 4th Best Actress Win as Lee Yumi in “Anna”

Bae Suzy has been named the Best Actress for her role as Lee Yumi in Coupang Play’s Anna (2022) at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards, her fourth win for the said role and drama.

Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) is considered the largest international award ceremony for drama based in South Korea that honors TV drama productions and performers across multiple platforms. In its 18th edition, 344 entries from 44 countries (or regions) were submitted. Among the list, 12 winners were only chosen by the jurors in the International Competition category, which includes Bae Suzy as Best Actress for her performance in Anna (2022).

According to the commentary of Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA), Bae Suzy “perfectly immersed in the character of Yumi”, did a great job “looking very naive”, and that her development she has shown is a great inspiration.

Bae Suzy also won Best Actress for her performance in Anna (2022) at the 2023 Director’s Cut Awards, 2023 Blue Dragon Series Awards, and 2023 Content Asia Awards.

Coupang Play’s Anna (2022) is a psychological-thriller series that depicts a life of lies and deceit motivated by a strong desire for success that ends up in a collapse. Envious of someone’s wealth and social status, Bae Suzy as Yumi begins to fantasize about becoming one with high class people, and steals that person’s elegant way of life and her name, Anna. The series premiered on June 24, 2022 and is available for binge-watching on Amazon Prime Video.

Meanwhile, the awards ceremony of Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) will be held at the KBS Hall on September 21, 2023. It will be broadcast live on KBS 2TV and through the official Youtube channel of SDA. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS and CBS.
