A few days left before we see one of the most highly-anticipated Korean series, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”! Starring Kim Seonho, Shin Minah and Lee Sangyi, the new rom-com drama is set to premiere on TVN and Netflix this weekend, August 28th.
We have been served overflowing glimpses of the upcoming show from official teasers, trailers, highlights, posters, behind-the-scene shoots, magazine interviews, and the recently held virtual press conference. Expectations are high as it stimulates more and more excitement to k-drama fans locally and internationally.
Notably, it was ranked #8 in the GoodData’s weekly Top 10 aired and buzzworthy TV Drama, even before its premiere.

ITS REFRESHING VIBE: The drama offers a new concept and a feel-good, refreshing atmosphere.
As the world continues to battle with the pandemic, travels and engagements are still limited to screens, HomCha is set to bring us to a refreshing escape.
The scenes are mostly filmed in the picturesque Pohang City, located in the province of North Gyeongsang, South Korea. Tourists travel here for the beautiful beaches, sunrise, lighthouse, seafood, and the likes.
With this, we get to see a fresh set-up and breathtaking landscapes of the place. The ocean, boats, lighthouse, and sounds of the waves will surely add warmth and charm to the story, as the drama teasers and trailers suggest.
A remake of the 2004 film, “Mr Hong”, Director Yoo Jewon reveals that HomCha is a fresh version of the old movie with added new elements, beautiful scenery, amazing set, and a warm, healing storyline.
For certain, viewers will love the refreshing atmosphere that “HomCha” will bring every week—the kind of freshness that is very much needed nowadays.
ITS WARM CHARACTERS: The drama insinuates liveliness through the warm characters at the seaside village of Gongjin.
During the press conference, Director Yoo Jewon unveils the meaning of the drama title. “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” connotes togetherness or community—a warm message that says you can’t do it alone in life.
He further explained that the drama has multiple characters whose stories represent our daily lives and are set to bring healing.
As Shin Minah as Yoon Hyejin receives a warm welcome from the villagers, we will also get to know the relatable characters. Soon we will get acquainted with the fun and lovely characters of the variety show producer, dentist’s assistant, Gongjin policeman, hardware president and his pregnant wife, the live cafe owner and his crazy daughter, the trio seniors (halmeonies), and many others.
Most of all, we will be introduced to the daily life of Kim Seonho as Mr Hong Dusik, the hometown expert.
As the story unfolds and deepens, potential viewers will certainly love the chemistry of the residents at the seaside village of Gongjin. “The stories of every character are warm and alive,” states Shin Minah in the Elle Magazine interview.
The storyline and its cast will make our hearts dance as the title insinuates.
ITS EXCEPTIONAL CHEMISTRY: The drama serves a different kind of chemistry between the main duo, Kim Seonho and Shin Minah.

Despite working together for the first time, obviously and undoubtedly, the chemistry of Kim Seonho and Shin Minah, are overflowing and exceptional.
It naturally shows and radiates in the drama posters, trailers, shoots, and behind-the-scenes. Even before the show airs, they are already giving us a heart-fluttering mood.
Their great smiles, charming dimples, and glowing appearance, when put together are insanely powerful, charming, and ravishing. And we can’t wait for more as their love story unfolds from bickering to flirting.

Director Yoo Jewon affirms their excellent chemistry, saying, “Their visuals are amazing. They look great together. On the set, they are comfortable with each other which shows through their facial expressions.”
Shin Minah also mentioned that Seoho is comfortable to be with, “He always makes me feel comfortable on the drama set.”
While Kim Seonho revealed during the Press Conference that he enjoys every moment that he has with Shin Minah on the set. “Minah has a lovely side and is a person with great capability,” he said in the Elle Magazine interview.
With this, we can’t wait for the perfectionist dentist, Hyejin, and free-spirited jack-of-all-trades, Chief Hong, to cross paths and how their adorable bickering will transform into a heart-warming admiration for each other.
