Polls Show Tight Race Between “Mr. Queen”, “Vincenzo”, and “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”

It’s that time of the year again where various polls for fans are opened to vote for their favorite K-dramas.

As of December 5th, three Korean series are in tight race for some categories at the Metro Best K-Drama Awards, Korean Updates Awards (KUA), and Swoonies’ Choice Awards.


1. Metro Best K-Drama Awards

“Metro Best K-Drama Awards” is a yearly digital awards event in the Philippines where top dramas are recognized and honored through a combination of votes from the Jury, People’s Choice, and special awards.

The People’s Choice Awards which is determined by the votes of fans show the following results:

“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and “Mr. Queen” contend for the Best Drama award with 2,000 votes of difference.

It’s also a tight race between “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” (Kim Seonho and Shin Mina) and “Vincenzo” (Song Joongki and Jeon Yeo-been) for the Best Couple and Best Kiss awards.

While Kim Seonho holds a lead for the Best Actor category, Shin Mina and Jeon Yeo-been compete for the Best Actress.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’s “Romantic Sunday” by Car the Garden also leads the Best Song followed by Vincenzo’s OST, “I’m Always By Your Side” by John Park.

The voting ends on December 7th.


2. Korean Updates Awards (KUA)

“Korean Updates” is a Korean entertainment news which organizes a yearly online voting for fans called “Korean Updates Awards” (KUA).

In this year’s poll, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” garners more than 50% support from fan votes in the following categories: Drama of the Year, Best Actor (Kim Seonho), and Best Actress (Shin Mina).

However, it’s another tight race for the Couple of the Year award between “”Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” (Kim Seonho and Shin Mina) and “Mr. Queen” (Park Eun-seok and Lee Ji-ah).

Meanwhile, “Wish” by Choi Yuree and “Romantic Sunday” by Car the Garden reign the top list for the OST of the Year.

The voting ends on December 10th.


3. Swoonies’ Choice Awards

Netflix’s “Swoonies’ Choice Awards” is a yearly online voting to celebrate with fans the best of K-dramas.

So far, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and “Vincenzo” both garnered more than 50% of votes in the following categories: Best Couple and Best Drama Anthem.

Jeon Yeo-been and Han So-hee occupied the Favorite Girl Crush. While Squid Game stars, Wi Ha-jun and Jung Ho-yeon secured the final round for Favorite Discovery of 2021.
