“Thekking” is a popular online voting app in South Korea which was developed for fans of K-dramas and K-pop. It conducts a monthly poll with a few categories such as K-Pop Individual, K-Pop Group, and K-Drama Actor.
It is a place for any fandom to do everything they can to show support for their favorite artists through earned rewards such as billboard ads, food truck, or cafe events. Fan votes are based on the number of hearts they give to their idols.
For this year, the winners in the K-Drama Actor category are as follows:
Lee Min-ho
Lee Minho, a top hallyu star, won thrice this year in the months of March, April, and September.
Kim Go-eun
Kim Go-eun is Thekking’s Korean Wave Actor for the month of May. She played as Kim Yumi in this year’s hit series, “Yumi’s Cells”.
Kim Jung-hyun
Kim Jung-hyun is known for his works in Welcome To Waikiki (2018), Crash Landing On You (2020), and Mr. Queen (2021). He won twice as Thekking’s Korean Wave Actor in July and November.
Shin Hae-sun
Shin Hae-sun is famously known as Queen Cheorin in the hit series, “Mr. Queen” (2021). She is the winner for the months of August and October.
Cha Eun-woo
The prince of “True Beauty” (2021), Cha Eun-woo, is Thekking’s Korean Wave Actor for the month of June.
Yook Sung-jae
Yook Sung-jae is a singer and actor who has participated in K-dramas such as the “Mystic Pop-up Bar” (2020). He won for two consecutive months, January to February.
Son Yejin
Thekking ends the year with the multi-awarded star, Son Yejin, as the Korean Wave Actor winner for the month of December.
Meanwhile, the following artists are in tight race in the semi-final round for Thekking’s “King Of Kings” spot:
- Young Tak vs Moon Byul of MAMAMOO
- Kim Jung-hyun vs Kim Seonho
The winner in the final round will be displayed through digital ads in the following locations: South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Paris, and New York Times Square in USA.
Voting for the semi-final round ends on December 23rd.
