On January 6th, a Naver report states that Kim Seonho has decided to lessen limelight activities such as acting projects, brand endorsements, and other offers for the entire year of 2022.
Rather, he will devote all his time for his movie debut “Sad Tropics”. This means more healing rest compared to the hectic 2021 and undivided focus for the actor in 2022.
“Sad Tropics” is an action film noir by the famous screenwriter-director, Park Hoon Jung. The story revolves around an aspiring Korean-Filipino boxer who comes to Korea to find his estranged father. Throughout the quest, he stumbles upon a villainous group of boys, meets a mysterious nobleman, and encounters misadventures where his life will reverse.
It has been revealed that the dark character of the nobleman will completely transform Kim Seonho’s acting into something different that the audience has never seen before.
Filming began in December 2021 and the movie is anticipated to premiere in the second half of 2022.
On December 2nd in 2021, Lee Hwa-bae, a movie critic and Baeksang judge, expressed delight to see a photo of Kim Seonho in a movie magazine, stating, “The film industry has gained a new face who has a strong fandom.”
2021 was a busy yet rewarding year for Kim Seonho as he juggled his time with various endorsements, theater projects, variety show entertainment, virtual fan meet-ups, magazine shoots, interviews, and drama filming.
He also received various awards including being named as 2021 Gallup Korea’s “TV Actor of the Year” for his iconic role in “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”.
Although he will only be seen by Seonhohada fans in his movie debut, “Sad Tropics” including promotion and interview, it’s still going to be a blast and a meaningful 2022!
