The survey attracted much attention and caused fans to reminisce and share iconic moments, characters, and quotes from their favorite Korean dramas.
On March 3, Best K-Drama ranked 5th place in Indonesia and 7th place in the Philippines with a volume of 12.6k tweets. It was also a trending topic worldwide including Puerto Rico, United States, and Malaysia on March 2.
Among the Korean dramas which received the most mentions for the best show include Hospital Playlist, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Crash Landing On You, Vincenzo, Reply 1988, and Our Beloved Summer.
The medical-musical drama, Hospital Playlist (2020-2021) garnered a volume of 43.4k tweets in the Philippines, 41.8k tweets in Indonesia, and less than 10k in Malaysia.
Topics under the hashtag #HospitalPlaylist include the best healing drama, missing the lacking 5, hoping for season 3, and various photos and memories from the series.
Meanwhile, the romantic drama, Our Beloved Summer (2021-2022) garnered 18.7k tweets in the Philippines on March 3 and 23.2k tweets in Indonesia on March 2.
Favorite quotes, meaningful moments, and the chemistry between Kim Dami and Choi Woo-shik were among the topics under the hashtag #OurBelovedSummer.
Reply 1988 (2015), Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021), Crash Landing On You (2019-2020), and Vincenzo (2021) were also seen trending in Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia under 10k tweets.
“We are people who will never move on from Reply 1988,” said one fan on Twitter, sharing four photos of the squad from the drama.
Gongjin, Hong Dusik, SikHye, iconic lines, and various heartwarming moments from Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha were some of the discussed topics about the series. One fan shared, “I don’t know why, but life was a little bit better during hometown cha-cha-cha era.”
Behind-the-scene romantic moments between Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin and their upcoming wedding ceremony were some of the topics under the hashtag #CrashLandingOnYou. A CLOY fan expressed, “No love story can ever be beautiful than #CrashlandingOnYou. What a beautiful series. Dil khush kar diya.”
