As of March 14, the talented Seo Yea-ji ranks 1st place on THEKKING’s poll for the month of March in the category, K-Drama Wave Actor. She is leading the poll with a current count of 103,231 votes.
Kim Jung-hyun ranks 2nd place in the poll with 93,700 votes. He is followed by Kim Seonho with 80,233 votes.
The winner for this month will be displayed through a digital ad at the New York Times Square in USA for seven days. Fan votes are based on the number of hearts they give to their idols and voting for this category ends on March 26.
After a successful drama in 2020, It’s Okay To Not Be Okay, Seo Yea-ji is back for another tvN drama, entitled Eve, where she will play the daughter of a chaebol family. Filming began in November 2021 and the drama is expected to be released this year.
Meanwhile, THEKKING is a popular online voting app in South Korea which was developed for fans of K-dramas and K-pop. It conducts a monthly poll with a few categories such as K-Pop Individual, K-Pop Group, and K-Drama Actor. It is a place for any fandom to do everything they can to show support for their favorite artists through earned rewards such as billboard ads, food truck, or cafe events.
Winners for the K-Drama Wave Actors in 2021 were Lee Minho, Kim Go-eun, Kim Jung-hyun, Shin Hae-sun, Cha Eun-woo, Yook Sung-jae, and Son Ye-jin.
In 2022, Kim Seonho won 1st place for two consecutive months in the same category, receiving more than 4 million votes in January and 1.4 million votes in February. As a reward made possible by fans, his digital ad was displayed at New York’s Times Square last February 24 to March 2, 2022. His second ad will appear late in March.
