The Korean sci-fi film JUNG_E (2023) has landed at no.1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 in non-English film category for the week of January 16 to 22.

The movie reached Top 10 in film in 80 countries from Asia, Africa, Oceania, Europe, and in the Americas, taking first place in Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea. So far, it has been watched for 19.3 million viewing hours since its release on January 20.
JUNG_E (2023) is a Netflix film set in the 22nd century when Earth becomes uninhabitable due to climate change. A civil war breaks out and to put an end to it, a lab researcher finds a way to clone the brain of a heroic soldier — her mother. It stars Kim Hyun-joo, Ryu Kyung-soo, and serves as the final appearance of Kang Soo-yeon who passed away in May 2022 due to cerebral hemorrhage. It is written and directed by Yeon Sang-ho, the creator of Train To Busan (2016), Peninsula (2020), and Hellbound (2021).
