Onto Greater Heights: Kim Seonho Trains To Climb For Touching The Void

Theater actor Kim Seonho engages in climbing exercises for Touching The Void (2022).

On June 20th, The Best Plays shared a series of photos of Touching The Void (2022) cast, training to climb the heights of Siula Grande for the said play.

The theater actors are all wearing comfortable clothes and climbing shoes in an indoor bouldering. While rock climbing requires a rope and protective gear, the bouldering exercise only needs the climbing shoes as shown in the photos. This means that the cast is being immersed in a high-intensity activity to strengthen the major muscles of the body intended for the climb.

One photo shows that Kim Seonho is training hard to strengthen his core and grip while holding onto the rocks. While he had a wall climbing experience protected with a rope and helmet during his 2 Days And 1 Night days, this time he takes climbing the heights to a new level and even greater capacity.

Kim Seonho’s team also shared a series of photos of him, doing the climbing exercise. He is wearing a white top, black shorts, and his fingers are covered with white climbing chalk dust applied to help improve grip and friction.

It appears that even in real life, Kim Seonho is reaching greater heights anew. According to Interpark, the theater seats for the month of July with Kim Seonho as the main actor, were immediately sold out after the online selling was opened. The phenomenon “Kim Seonho Effect” continues to build impact to people and that he is still the “Theater Idol” adored by many.

Meanwhile, Kim Seonho will play the tormenting yet life-changing story of Joe Simpson, a mountaineer who survived a near-death situation while hiking the 20,853-foot Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes in 1985.

Touching The Void will be held at Art One Theater Hall 2, Daehak-ro in South Korea from July 8 to September 18, 2022.
