The Red Sleeve, Park Eun-bin Attain Win At Korean Broadcasting Awards 2022

The 49th Korean Broadcasting Awards officially held this year’s ceremony honoring two winners in the drama category. The event was held at KBS TV Open Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on September 5th.

The Red Sleeve (2021-2022) was announced the “Best Drama” winner, which is now included in the long list of nominations and wins of the popular sageuk series. As of September 6th, it has achieved 16 wins out of 31 nominations and honored the Best Drama award for the 7th time in various awarding ceremonies.

MBC’s The Red Sleeve (2021) is a historical romantic Korean series that tells the romance between the King of Joseon and a court maid, starring Lee Jun-ho and Lee Se-young. It premiered on November 12, 2021 and achieved its highest nationwide viewership rating of 17.4% during its final episode. It also gained popularity overseas through the streaming platform, Viu.

In the drama performance category, Park Eun-bin was named the “Best Actor” for her role in KBS2’s The King’s Affection (2021), a historical romantic series based on a comic book that talks about a young woman who becomes a king in the Joseon era. 

The actress considered the drama a dream for giving her the opportunity to live as a king in the Joseon dynasty, according to her acceptance speech. “The King’s Affection is both a character and project that I will remember and preciously cherish in the future,” she said.

She also thanked everyone who worked hard to create The King’s Affection and the viewers who watched and loved the drama around the world.
