Kim Seonho, Jaechan Lead IdolPlus Popular Actor In Asia Artist Awards 2022

Actor Kim Seonho and singer-actor Park Jaechan lead this year’s Idol Plus Popularity poll in Actor category of Asia Artist Awards (AAA), a leading global award ceremony where famous artists from Asia gather together in one place to receive honor for their outstanding achievements and contributions in television, film, and music.

The Idol Plus Popularity Award is given to a celebrity star who shines the most this year, singer and actor, and is fully decided by fans worldwide through the Idol Plus. However, the official list of candidates, which includes 82 actors were selected by the organizing committee.

As of November 8th, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) actor Kim Seonho is leading the poll in the actor category with 18.4% of votes from fans. He is followed by Semantic Error (2022) star Park Jaechan with 16.9% of votes and Rookie Cops (2022) star Daniel Kang with 13.7% of votes. Others included in the Top 10 are: Jinyoung in Yumi’s Cells 2 (2022), Cha Eun-woo in upcoming drama Island (2022), Lee Junho in The Red Sleeve (2021-2022), Doyoung in Dear X Who Doesn’t Love Me (2022), Park Eun-bin in Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022), Kim Se-jeong in A Business Proposal (2022) and Today’s Webtoon (2022), and Yook Sung-jae in The Golden Spoon (2022). The voting will end on November 15th at 23:59 KST.

Asia Artist Awards was established in 2016 and is organized by South Korea-based business newspaper Money Today and its global media brands StarNews and MTN. In its 6th edition in December 2021, three Korean actors received popularity awards including Song Ji-hyo for AAA RET Popularity Award and Jung Ho-yeon for U+Idol Live Popularity Award in the female category. Meanwhile, in the male category, Kim Seonho achieved a double win, taking home the AAA RET Popularity Award and U+Idol Live Popularity Award. See list of full winners in 2021 here.

The 2022 Asia Artist Awards (AAA) will be held at the Nippongaishi Hall in Nagoya, Japan on December 13th and to be hosted by the Super Junior member, Leeteuk and IZ*ONE member, Jang Won-young. It will also be broadcast live via Idol Plus.
