The King’s Affection Wins Best Telenovela At International Emmy Awards 2022

KBS2’s The King’s Affection (2021), starring Park Eun-bin and Rowoon, has been named the Best Telenovela at the International Emmy Awards in New York City on November 21, 2022.

The historical-romantic series entered the final list of candidates in a tough competition with other selected shows from overseas in the Telenovela category alongside Brazil’s Nos Tempos Do Imperador (2021), Spain’s Two Lives (2021), and China’s You Are My Hero (2021).

The King’s Affection (2021), which is written by Han Hee-jung is based on “Yeonmo”, a manhwa or comic by Lee So-young. The story tells a young woman who becomes the King of Joseon, played by Park Eun-bin. It was also streamed on Netflix worldwide and became one of the most popular Korean titles on the streaming giant during its run.
