It’s a quadruple win for the Hallyu star Kim Seonho at the 2022 Asia Arist Awards held in Japan on December 13th.
For his first trophy, Kim Seonho won the “IdolPlus Popularity Award”, an award given to a celebrity star who shines the most this year and is fully decided by fans worldwide through online votes. In the actor category, he took first place with a score of 46.8% or 820,625 votes. He said in his acceptance speech, “Since I was a kid, I’ve thought a lot on what makes me happy and my answer has always been the same – it’s acting. And it’s only made possible by the viewers, audience, and fans. You are the people I owe for this one thing that makes me the most happy. I’ll return the gift with good works. Thank you.”
He won another fan-based popularity award called “DCM Popularity Award” . In the male actor category, he garnered a score of 83.8% or 1,092,620 votes. In his acceptance speech, he said, “I heard my fans worked hard to vote and I’m grateful for the support alone. But I’m even more grateful for this moment, receiving the award. I’m so happy to do what I do as an actor. I hope I can return this gift through good acting and good image. Thank you.”
Thirdly, he won the “Best Asia Celebrity Award” in the male actor category. During his acceptance speech, he said, “It’s an honor to be up here again. I couldn’t have done it without my parents, fans, and Salt Entertainment family. Thank you to everyone who helped me make it to where I am today. Thank you.”
For the fourth trophy, he won the “Best Choice Award” in the actor category. He said in his speech, “Thank you once again for presenting this amazing honor. A big shout out to my team, supporters, and fans!”
When asked by the emcee on how it feels to win the most awards for the evening, he said, “I’m happy to even just be invited so it’s a great honor.” He also mentioned that he is working on new projects.
Asia Artist Awards (AAA) is a leading global award ceremony where famous artists from Asia gather together in one place to receive honor for their outstanding achievements and contributions in television, film, and music. It was established in 2016 and is organized by South Korea-based business newspaper Money Today and its global media brands StarNews and MTN.
During its 6th edition in December 2021, Kim Seonho also achieved a double win, taking home the AAA RET Popularity Award and U+Idol Live Popularity Award.
