The Teachers: Pink, Nature Trail, Ridge Between Rice Paddies, Plum (2023) is a Korean documentary film about the teachers and caregivers working at “Acorn After School” in Seongmisan Village in Mapo-gu, Seoul, a place well known for its community activities. While the schools are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Acorn After School increased operating hours, taking care of around 60 children from morning to evening. The documentary follows the lives of five teachers who are not accepted as regular teachers outside this school even though they work more than 10 years, revealing their inexpressible difficulties and pain. The film was selected for the JEONJU Cinema Project at the JEONJU International Film Festival.
