On December 22nd (US time zone), Seonhohadas from America shared on Twitter a merry news on how they will greet the new year with their favorite super star, Kim Seonho.
The caption reveals a thank you note to the New York Times best-selling author, Christie Golden, who is also a certified fan of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” and Kim Seonho.
She responded, “I was very honored, excited, and happy to contribute!”
On November 25th, the award-winning author expressed admiration for Chief Hong, Hye-jin, and the Gongjin community of “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”. According to Christie, the drama is utterly charming and that Kim Seonho is one of the most convincing and natural actors she has seen, who was perfect in portraying the many emotions throughout the series. “He delivered a jaw-droppingly good performance,” she said.
Kim Seonho’s career started as a stage play actor in 2009 and he has been actively performing in the theater for more than ten years now.
He made his television debut in 2017 and remarkably rose to fame with his secondary role, “Han Jipyeong”, through the drama, “Start-Up” in 2020. He won the “Character of the Year” for his outstanding performance at the 2021 Seoul International Drama Awards.
2021 appears to be the busiest time of the actor as he worked for numerous projects in advertisement, variety show, drama, hosting, music videos, and magazines. He even co-wrote and performed a song for Seonhohadas in May entitled, “Reason“.
In less than a year, the actor has managed to achieve a number of recognition through various awards as well as leading the polls and rankings. As a brand ambassador, he has also influenced a skyrocket in sales, giving him the names “Sold Out King” and “Kim Seonho Effect”.
On December 14th, he ranked first place in the Gallup Korea survey for the category, “Actor of the Year”.
His latest drama, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” has also been selected by the Kim Soo-hyun Drama Art Hall as the Best Drama of the Year for its healing narrative that portrays warm stories of relatable ordinary lives.
USA’s Variety also selected “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” as one of the Best International TV Shows of 2021, describing the series as one of the feel-good K-dramas of the year, “The story’s simplicity and lightheartedness has a refreshing vibe amid the doom and gloom of the pandemic.”
Kim Seonho is currently working hard and shooting for his movie debut, “Sad Tropics”, a highly anticipated film which will showcase a dark and complicated character that the audience has never seen the actor performed before.
