“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” Wins The Best Popcorn Worthy Show In Hallyu Talk Awards

The Hallyu Talk Awards has revealed the list of winners in 13 categories on January 14th.

With a total score of 66% votes, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha was named as the “Best Popcorn Worthy Show” followed by Squid Game and Vincenzo.

The warm seaside narrative also won the hearts of many across the globe as it was selected by US Variety as one of 2021’s crop of best international TV shows. They described Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha as one of the feel-good K-dramas stating, “The story’s simplicity and lightheartedness has a refreshing vibe amid the doom and gloom of the pandemic.

In South Korea, it was selected as the “Best Drama of 2021” by Kim Soo Hyun Drama Art Hall and recognized to be the Top Korean Drama for the second half of 2021.

Moreover, it won the People’s Choice Awards for Best Drama at the 2021 Metro Best K-Drama Awards.

“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is a hit romantic-comedy Korean series and an outstanding remake of the 2004 film, “Mr. Hong”, starring Kim Seonho and Shin Mina.

It attained the highest record of 12.7%, according to Nielsen Korea. With more than 3 million nationwide views, it also became one of the highest-rated drama series in Korea’s cable television history.

It also entered Netflix’s Global Top 10 for 16 weeks and has been watched more than 300 million hours since its release.
